This week’s JU raffle winners are Benjamin and Brenda Murphy, who won a one-night stay at the Best Western Naha Inn, a comfortable business-class hotel located right next to Naha’s busy entertainment areas.

The Murphys are from Kansas City, MO, a place they call “wild and very interesting.” The couple has called Okinawa home for about a year, and say they like their life here as “every day is an adventure.” They are scheduled to move on in June 2014.

Their favorite local foods are takoyaki and yakitori. As the best part of Okinawa they cite “gorgeous sunsets and the kindness of local people.”

As for their plans to explore more of Japan while stationed here, they say that they definitely would like to visit Hokkaido in the northern part of the country before leaving.
