59 new Americans now on Okinawa

A total of 59 service members and spouses stationed on Okinawa are now American citizens, having taken their Oath of Allegiance at a Wednesday ceremony at the MCAS Futenma Theater.

The United States Citizenship Immigration Service conducted the Citizenship Ceremony, recognizing the newly selected citizens who’ve completed requirements for U.S. citizenship to take their Oath of Allegiance and be presented with certificates confirming their citizenship.

The guest of honor and keynote speaker for the ceremony was Consul General Alfred R. Magleby, from U.S. Consulate General, in Urasoe.
