A member of a crew moving a large safe weighing some 800 kg was crushed under the safe when it fell on him at Haneji Branch Office of Nago City, Monday.

According to Nago Police, the crew from a local recycling company was moving the safe from the city branch office, when it fell on 51-year-old Tsutomu Kawakami. Kawakami was taken to a hospital in cardiopulmonary arrest where he died on the same day.

The safe was being moved in order to dispose of it

Nago Police is investigating the cause of the safe’s fall.
