Local pottery artisan presents Christmas ceramics exhibition
Rei Katsuki calls it her Christmas gift to the community, a special ceramics exhibition featuring animals, fictitious living things and other things that spawn curiosity.
The Katsukiya: Vessels and objects Exhibition is open through Christmas Day at Garb Domingo in Tsuboya, Naha City. The Katsuki-ya centers on a world theme where curiosity arises when a traveling carnival comes to a certain location one day, and excitement mounts.
Her exhibition and the spot sale of tableware is made more special because some are treated with gold. Rei Katsuki is one of Okinawa’s best known ceramic & cloth accessory artists. A Fukuoka transplant to Okinawa in 1991, she’s joined many exhibitions and craft shows.
The Katsukiya: Vessels and Objects Exhibition is open daily 10 a.m. ~ 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. ~ 7 p.m. each day.
