Omar Books becoming Woods in December

Omar Books in Kitanakagusuku Village is transforming itself, or at least it’s approach to books, in December with a focus on their true origins.

The people describing a tree, planting craftsmen, bookstores, illustrators, space designers are all being touted in a special series of store layouts, designs and special activities during December.  Sweets investigators, stained textile artists, golden work craftsmen, masters of café and even friends in the woods are all participating.

Admission is free to the bookstore from 2 p.m. ~ 8 p.m. at the Omar Books located at 309 Shimabukuro in Kitanakagusuku Village.  Seeing, touching reading, tasting, listening and feeling are all being encouraged with a hands-on approach to books and other objects being displayed.   Products that bring visitors close to nature and the woods is the theme.

Participants include Hiromi Shimabukuro, PLANTADOR plants and Christmas trees, Omar Books, illustrator Futoshi Nakanishi, Space specialists from Planet Works & Spiral, Sobe Café Laboratory, Sobelabo, with baked sweets, stained textiles from Hatsume Hasikawa, and Aino Nakazato’s metal works.  Mahou Coffee will also be appearing on December 2nd.

Omar Books is located on Route 85 in Kitanakagusuku.  From Foster go out through the Legion Gate and continue straight about 2 kilometers. The shop is on the left side of the road.
