Jeremy Chilcote is the winner of Japan Update weekly raffle. He won a pair of tickets to Kinoshita Circus that is pitching up its big top for daily family shows from Dec. 1 through Feb. 1 at Toyosaki, Tomigusuku City, and will surely enjoy the show when he does to see it with his kids.

Jeremy is from Honolulu, Hawaii, and has been on Okinawa since Dec. 2007. He says that Okinawa is very much similar to his home, Hawaii, as both are nice islands with friendly people.

“I felt right at home when I first arrived. I love this island, its local people and beautiful nature,” he says. He also appreciates Okinawa food, stating “Rafute is definitely my favorite.”

In the near future he’s planning to expand his knowledge of Okinawa with sightseeing trips to islands like Yoron, Miyako and Iriomote.

He also stated that he’s happy with the current news coverage of Japan Update, but would like to read more about Okinawan bands and local music scene in general.
