The lucky winner of this week’s Japan Update weekly raffle is Bruce Hidaka-Gordon. He won a pair of tickets to Kinoshita Circus that has still a few days great shows left in Tomigusuku before they move on from Okinawa.

Bruce is from Carlsbad, CA, and has been on Okinawa one year. He says that he is scheduled to move on in July 2015. He says that his life on the island is “fantastic” as he enjoys delicious Yakiniku dinners and weekend trips to beaches.

“The ocean and people here are what I appreciate most,” he says, adding “I especially like the fact that nowadays they have lots of places here that have a no smoking policy, so non-smokers like myself can truly enjoy.”

He says he likes local news the most in Japan Update. Besides visiting places around the island he and his wife would like to go visit Hokkaido.
