The lucky winner of this week’s JU raffle was Courtney Rick, who won a pair of tickets to the Marie Antoinette Exhibition running at the Okinawa Prefectural Museum through Apr. 14.

Courtney is from Florida, so she says that the weather at her home grounds is very similar to Okinawa, although, she adds “The beaches here are more beautiful.” She says she has been on the island about three years, and is hoping to be able to stay for another couple of years.

“I feel like I’m on vacation every day here. I absolutely love it,” she says. Food has not been a problem, either, as she says she likes most Japanese foods. “But Okinawan champuru is the best of the all,” she states.

Friendly people and beautiful sights all over the island make her life here pleasant, too. “But I still would like to see the famous Torii-gates near Hiroshima,” she says.
