A free Plant Fair is coming up in Okinawa City starting

Plants and flowers of every variety are on exhibit and sale at the annual Plant Fair at Okinawa Farmer Training Center in Noborikawa starting June 7.

Organizers say the Plant Fair, which runs through Sunday the 16^th, will operate 9 a.m. ~ 6 p.m. every day.

The plant fair is held at the Okinawa Farmer Training Center early in June each year to draw attention to the flowers, to promote the Okinawa City interests in floriculture production and to let the general public see the many floral options available to grow and for sale.

Some 30 vendors have 30,000 plans on exhibit and sale through the event.

Some 30 contractors in Okinawa will open shops, and about 30,000 plants such as tropical fruit trees, gardening trees, foliage plants, and potted plants will be exhibited and on sale. A charity auction with plants will also take place on Saturday, June 15^th.  Proceeds will be donated to a welfare organization.

 Organizers say they expect more than 30,000 to visit the market during the ten days. To get to the market, from Kadena Air Base Gate 3, go straight toward Chibana Housing and Camp Shields. Nearing Route 329, the market is on the left, just before the intersection.
