Organizers of the annual 10,000-dancer Eisa Festival and parade will be held Aug. 3 and 4 on Kokusai Street in Naha.

Aug. 3rd sees a pre-festival starting at 6 p.m. with an Original Eisa Exhibition performance at the Saion Square in the Mashiki area.

The festival’s main event, the parade of 10,000-strong crowd of eisa-groups, youth eisa teams and individuals, will proceed the length of the Kokusai Street in Naha from 1 to 6 p.m. Teams from both in and outside Okinawa will participate.

Organizers say that they have arranged water sprinklers along the street to prevent heat strokes and cool off both dancers and audiences.
