“Yugure” Marche pays homage to twilight

Yugure Marche, an evening market event in Naha, offers a chance to relax and enjoy Okinawan summer with live entertainment and home-made treats.

For the first time ever in Naha City, a night marche, or market, is taking place this weekend beginning at twilight at the Kibogaoka Park in Naha City, 3-2 Makishi.

Plenty of handicrafts are for sale at the market.

“Yugure” means twilight in Japanese, and this free marche is being held simultaneously with “Sakurazaka Asylum Taiwan Stylu” music event. The weekend “Sakurazaka Asylum” town festival will be held on the outskirts of Sakurazaka district in Naha focusing on Sakurazaka Theater and near-by live houses.

This marche, which runs from 5 p.m. ~ 9 p.m. Saturday, July 27th and Sunday, July 28th, treats a visitor to not only eating and drinking but cool miscellaneous goods, great music, and more. Under the light of lanterns, visitors will spend the romantic night of the weekend. This is an event suitable for going out with a sweetheart.

“Sakurazaka Asylum Taiwan Stylu” is a new event now organized for the first time, where the artists of Taiwan, Okinawa, and mainland Japan gather together, creating new exchanges.
