Hai-sai Tsuboya Yaki Exhibition aims bring answers to visitors.

The Hai Sai Tsuboya-Yaki Exhibition is moving into its final week at the Naha Tsuboya Yachimun Museum.

The exhibition, which began Tuesday, August 20th, ends Sunday, September 8th.  Admission is free to the exhibition, which runs daily 10 a.m. ~ 6 p.m.

What is Yachimun? How is it made? What kind of things are the work of the potter who makes Tsuboya Yaki? First of all, what kind of place is Tsuboya?

can find answers to such questions. Since its contents are intelligible also for elementary and junior high school students, it is a good event as an introduction to Tasuboya ware. It is a wonderful experience for those who do not know Tsuboya well.

On Saturday and Sunday sessions, the workshops allow visitors to experience “Akae”, painting, which is one of the techniques of Tsuboya yaki. Participation is free, and no application to join is necessary.  The weekend workshops run 10 a.m. ~ 4:30 p.m.
