The “Ryukyu Ghost Story Haunted House Temari”, the greatest haunted house in the prefecture, is now open until September 1^st at Navel Kadena!

This is a participating experience type haunted house with a storyline unique to Okinawa, running at Navel Kadena, 372-2 Kaneku Shimohara, Kadena Town. The haunted house runs daily noon to 10 p.m., in two parts. Part 1 is noon ~ 5 p.m., and is open to kids under the age of 12 when accompanied by a guardian. Part 1, from 6 p.m. ~ 10 p.m., is rated “R” and allows individuals 16 and older to enter. Those 15 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. During the final hour, no one under 20 years of age are permitted to enter.

Advance admission tickets are ¥800 for those 16 and older, or ¥1,000 at the door. Children 5 ~ 15 pay ¥500 in advance or ¥500 at the door. Tickets are available at E-Plus (Fami Port), Family Mart, Lawson ticket loppi, Lawson, Home Center Tabata Urasoe branch, Home Center Tabata Ishikawa branch, and Home Center Tabata Navel Kadena branch.

The program is a haunted house with the greatest plot in the prefecture. Since the age limit is applied, a more mature presentation allows visitors to experience spine tingling fear. It is a haunted house with images and sounds presented for the first time in Okinawa.

The story centers on a theme from a few decades ago, several years before Okinawa was returned to Japan from the United States, when one girl lived with her mother. Her name was Sachiko, and she was always waiting for her mother’s return dribbling a “temari” ball, a handmade highly decorated ball that traditionally was made of pieced used kimonos, and even now often made by mothers to their children.
