Tara Aquilar is the lucky winner of this week’s JU raffle. She won a pair of tickets to Yubikiri Haunted House that runs daily shows until Sep. 23 at Ashibina Outlet Mall in Toyosaki, Tomigusuku. Over 30,000 visitors have so far experienced chills in this very realistic haunted house.

Tara is originally from St. Louis, MO, and has lived on Okinawa about half a year. She says that she loves her life here, and has already developed enthusiastic liking to Okinawan soba. As she got here just as the beach season was about to begin, she has had plenty of occasions to enjoy the sandy beaches of the island.

She has two and half more years to go on the island, and later she would like to visit places in mainland Japan, as she is interested in Japanese culture in general, and would like to see the many historical sites there she has so far only seen in pictures.
