Okinawa Prefecture Police published statistics regarding the number of bicycle thefts on Okinawa, on Sep. 26^th,

According to the police statistics, the count of reported bicycle thefts increased by 40 from last year, totaling 1,105. 605 of the bicycles were locked, and 500 were not.

The Prefecture Police advises people to chain their bicycles to some unmovable object instead of just locking its wheel in order to avoid theft.
