Lawson Okinawa President Masayuki Koja and Tessei Uechi, the president of the San-A department store and Supermarket chain announced plans, Sep. 20, for the two retailers to collaborate with 13 Okinawan food processing companies in order to create a completely new private brand of products limited just for Okinawa.

The brand will me sold under name “Lawson Select,” and will first include 28 different products. The products will be on the shelves of all Lawson and San-A supermarkets starting Oct. 8.
