Jennifer DeWitt was the lucky winner who won last week’s JU raffle. The prize was a pair of tickets to I Musici ensemble performance of classical music at Okinawa Civic Hall. I Musici is a world-famous Italian chamber orchestra from Rome that specializes in baroque music and has a history going back all the way to 1951.

Jennifer calls Kansas City, MO, her hometown, which she calls “simply awesome!” She been on Okinawa  about 10 months and will enjoy the island until Jan. 2015 when she and her family is scheduled to move on,

She says that she has adjusted to her life here quite nicely, and is enjoying her stay every day. Since coming here she has discovered a new favorite food, too. It’s ramen noodles in almost every for they come. “They serve them in almost endless flavors, so every time I order one it feels like an adventure, but always a pleasant one,” she says.

She likes to go sightseeing around the island and has discovered many beautiful places here but, she says, “My dream has always been to be able to visit Kyoto in mainland Japan.”
