A group of Okinawan performing artists visiting France held a performance at the Japanese Culture Hall in Paris to rave reviews, Nov. 8th and 9th. The Okinawa Prefecture Ryukyu Entertainment Promotion Association organized the event that featured traditional Ryukyu dance and music.

Ryukyu entertainment is not exactly well known in Europe with an official from a local tourism and entertainment organization stating, “I wasn’t aware Okinawa had traditional arts. There should be somewhere in Okinawa where tourists are able to have a chance to appreciate this culture regularly.”

The group is scheduled to give their next performance on Nov. 13^th in Cologne, Germany.
