World Festa Machigwa marks international day

The music is absolutely international.

Saturday’s the day to take a meandering afternoon adventure to more than a dozen countries at the World Festa in Naha downtown a.k.a. “Machigwa.”

The festival, hosted by the Naha City Central Shopping Street Alliance Association, presents international vendor stands from Brazil, Peru, Mexico, India, Taiwan, Thailand, Myanmar, Ghana, Okinawa and more! All stand owners have come from abroad, and are currently residing in Okinawa.  The festival begins at 1 p.m., with action on stage running from 2 p.m. ~ 5:30 p.m. at the Sunrise Naha Shopping Center, reached by entering Heiwa Dori arcade from Kokusai

Apart from food stands there will also be many types of dances and performances from Kachimba, belly dance groups and the famous genuine Brazil-born samba! The fest begins at 1 p.m. with a samba BBB parade through the arcade, followed by a performance by Kachimba, belly dance, Mexican folklore and more on stage.

There’s no free parking in the area only pay parking.
