As a way to tackle the declining birth rates, government and private businesses have established a center to provide support in finding a marriage partner.

The new center is named “ito” and it’s located in Oyama, Ginowan City.

According to a poll done by the National Institute of Population and Social Security Research, people over 50 years of age in Okinawa have the highest rate in the nation of staying single their whole lifetime. The chairman of the center, Yuki Kaku says, “I will raise a flag to promote Okinawa, and promise to take drastic measures to find a solution to stop the declining birth rates.”
