Sanshin exhibition open at Okinawa Prefectural Museum
An exhibition at the Okinawa Prefectural Museum & Art Museum opened an exhibition on sanshin, the Okinawa’s trademark instrument, starting Tuesday.
There will be several of the instruments on display allowing visitors to compare different tones of various sanshin. A total of 148 items related to the instrument are included in the exhibition. A presentation of the history and origins of sanshin are also presented.
The event will run through May 11th. Admission to the museum is ¥500 for adults and ¥200 for junior high school students and younger.
