Fresh Kyushu oysters on sale in Tomigusuku

Busen Sea off Kyushu is said to produce the best oysters in the world, which everyone can come to check at JA Okinawa Nanairo Batake Market in Tomigusuku this weekend.

Kyushu’s Buzen Sea, located between Fukuoka and Oita Prefectures, is said to have the world’s best – and most nutritious — oysters.

This weekend, those Buzen Sea oysters are being offered for sale at the JA Okinawa Nanairo Batake Market from 10 a.m. ~ 7 p.m., both Saturday and Sunday.  The market is next to Michi no Eki Toyosaki, 3-86 Toyosaki, Tomigusuku City. JA notes that the sale will end earlier if the oysters are sold out.

Normally, most oysters are sold after being removed from their shells.  These will be sold with their shell on, and the oysters alive for a fresher and better taste. On both days of the event, a bag of 20 oysters will be sold for only \1,000. Please note that only two bags of oysters will be sold to an individual. There will also be grilled oyster for tasting for free.
