Tropical Beach opens 2014 season Sunday

Tropical Beach in Ginowan offers free marine activity experiences as a part of their season opening activities.

Splashin’ fun in the Okinawa sun begins Sunday at Ginowan’s Tropical Beach.

The official swim season kicks off Sunday afternoon 1 p.m. ~ 4 p.m., with the opening ceremonies beginning at 1:40 p.m.  Admission is free.

First 100 elementary students and younger kids who sign up can participate in the fish catching event, and they can keep the fish they catch to boot.

Tropical Beach officials note there will be a variety of activities throughout the afternoon, including musical performances on stage from 2:30 p.m. ~ 4 p.m.  There will be a fish catching and treasure hunt for elementary students and younger. For the fish catching event, the first 100 to come can participate, while for the treasure hunt, the first 80 will be able to participate. Reception registration will begin from at 1 p.m.

Experience marine activities for free from 2:10 p.m. – 4 p.m., and visitors can try their hand at a Rock-Paper-Scissors game between 3:20 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Music and other entertainment is also on tap throughout the day.
