Five marine leisure accidents reported during holidays
During the long holiday of Golden Week, five marine leisure accidents took place on Okinawa, according to Eleventh Regional Coast Guard Headquarters.
In the five accidents, two people died. The Coast Guard officials say, every year over the last five years of the Golden Week holidays, there have been accidents.
They single out snorkeling as the one activity that has seen many fatalities over thre years. They emphasize that those who go out snorkeling on the reefs, should make sure they can use the equipment properly.
