In the Nakagusuku New Port district in Uruma City, along Route 2, about two kilometers of aluminum fence separating the sidewalk from the street was found to been stolen.

The fence had been apparently sawed off from its posts. The theft was reported on May 21st.

According to authorities, about 450 fence frames and their aluminum support bars were removed. Authorities suspect that the aluminum from the fence has possibly been sold for metal scrap.

Workers at the Nakagusuku Port Management Office first noticed the missing fence some time last year, but failed to file complaint with the police at that time.
