Sunabe Baba Park is made for all kinds of family fun

Baba Beach is long and sandy, but very shallow with some rocks to be wary of.

Located in Chatan’s Sunabe area close to the north end of the Sunabe Seawall and a few minutes’ walk from the Miyagi coast, Sunabe Baba Park has a variety of playground equipment designed for children of all ages.

The park has plenty of playground equipment.

Many families come to the park and the beach to enjoy their free time together. The park has sit-down areas, playground equipment for kids, a basketball court and a skateboard park that has structures such as half-pipes and rails. People who use the skateboard park must wear a helmet before they can enter. The skateboard rink is open from 3 to 8 p.m. at weekdays and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at weekends and holidays. Using the facility is free.

Pets are allowed on the beach but owners must clean up after them. There are also many children on the area during the weekends and holidays and owners are advised to keep their dogs on a leash
