Mass choir highlights Asian Gospel Festival

Bishop Eddie Long from Georgia is the guest speaker.

An Asian Gospel Mass Choir will perform at the National Theatre Okinawa as part of an October Asian Gospel Festival.

More than 70 Americans will be in the mass choir, which is also accepting sign-ups from Okinawa residents who want to sing with the group during the engagements October 10th through 13th.  The centerpiece concert at the National Theatre Okinawa takes place Saturday, October 11th. The “Power of ONE” gospel concert begins at 5 p.m.  Advance tickets are available from the Japan Update office for ¥2,800.  Tickets at the door are ¥3,300.  Doors to the National Theatre Okinawa open at 4 p.m.

The All Nation Sunday Worship Service will take place October 12th at the Kadena Cultural Center, 588 Aza Kadena, Kadena Town.  Admission to the service and concert, which features Bishop Eddie Long as guest speaker, is free.  Doors open at 4 p.m. for the 5 p.m. concert with the mass choir and the service. The Asia Gospel Festival gets under way on Friday the 10th at New Covenant Ministries of Faith, 5-35-23 Chibana, Okinawa City, at 7 p.m.  Admission is free. The evening features guest speaker Bishop Eddie Long, who comes from mega church ‘New Birth Missionary Baptist Church’ based in Georgia..  This event aims at be the bridge between the people in Okinawa, Japan and the U.S.  People will not only come and join the concert, but be able to learn and experience the real Gospel with professional singers from US.

The final day of the event is Monday the 13th, with a Pray for Asia service at Goya Baptist Church at 10:30 a.m.  Admission is free.

Throughout the Asia Gospel Festival there will be gospel workshops for Japanese at 7 p.m. on Thursday the 9th, 3 p.m. on Friday the 10th, and 7 p.m. the 10th.  All will be at the Mihama Church, 2-1-16 Mihama, Chatan Town.
