20 rounds of ammo found in trash on Kume Island

20 rounds of ammo that looked like riffle cartridges were found among trash collected in Kumejima Town on Nov. 11th.

According to Kumejima Police, the cartridges are not rusty and look rather new. The cartridges are now in the custody of the local police station.

Naha Police are investigating the origin of the ammo on suspicion of a possibility of a violation of the Explosives Control Law.  According to police officials and Kumejima Town office, an employee found the ammunition among trash at the local garbage-disposal facility in Gima.
