Holiday spirit settles for weekend on Camp Courtney

Christmas is just around the corner, and whether the stockings have been hung by the chimneys with care, Marine Corps Community Services on Okinawa is ready to spread some holiday cheer.

The 21st annual Courtney Christmas and Holiday Festival is in festive spirit at the Camp Courtney Commissary/PX complex Saturday and Sunday. This free event is geared to all ages and will provide plenty of merriment this Christmas season.  Included are interactive game booths, free entertainment, delicious cultural foods and seasonal treats.  The holiday festival runs 2 p.m. ~10 p.m. both days.

Headlining at this year’s festival are Country music star John Michael Montgomery performing 5 p.m. Sunday, and Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum songstress’s Colbie Caillat performing 7:30 p.m. Sunday. For more information on all the free entertainment, including the kids carnival,

In the spirit of giving, MCCS will be giving away plenty of prizes for everyone during this year’s festival. One lucky winner will win roundtrip tickets from Tokyo to the U.S. courtesy of America Airlines. SOFA personnel 18 and older can sign up at the American Airlines booth 2 – 6 p.m. both days. There will also be plenty of toy giveaways courtesy of our sponsors Mattel, American Foreign Services Protective Agency, and BAE Systems.

Admission to the festival is free and open to all SOFA status personnel and local nationals. No one will be admitted with pets, bottles, outside alcohol or coolers. Picture I.D. will be required at the gate.
