Danish jazz singer to perform at Garaman Hall

Highly acclaimed Danish jazz singer Sinne Eeg is making her Okinawa debut at Ginoza Culture Center Garaman Hall on Sunday.

Eeg is a well-known jazz singer in her home country of Denmark, and is now branching out with this concert at Garaman Hall in Ginoza Village Sunday evening.  She’ll perform with pianist Jacob Christoffersen, who’s called ‘pianist of pianists’ by the folks in Copenhagen.  Joining them will be bassist Kasper Vadshold, who plays with the Denmark Radio Big Band, and drummer Morten Lund.

Doors open at 5 p.m. for the 6 p.m. concert.  Advance tickets are ¥3,500 or ¥4,000 at the door.  All seats are non-reserved seats, and children under six are not permitted.  Ginoza Village residents are entitled to a special discount price of ¥2.500.

Born in Lemvig, Denmark, the 38-year-old jazz vocalist is considered a major talent in her home country.  She attended the Academy of Music in Esbjerg in 1997, and has toured Europe, Japan and China.  In 2012 Sinne Eeg, along with the Danish Radio Big Band, sang in Brussels for the beginning of the Danish Presidency of the European Union Council.  Jazz aficionados describe the clarity of her natural voice tones as a trait that gives her distinction, with near perfect intonation for jazz singing.
