Prefecture starts survey of coral damage off Henoko

The Okinawa Prefectural Government started the ocean floor survey in the restricted area off the coast of Henoko, Monday. The purpose of the survey is to find out if the concrete blocks that the Okinawa Defense Bureau sank on the seabed have damage coral reefs.

Okinawa Governor Takeshi Onaga intends to cancel the permission for the Defense Bureau to crush the reefs if damage to the coral reefs is identified outside of the area that the Prefectural Government has given permission to crush for construction of the offshore runways off Henoko.

A team of 15 prefectural government officials and divers left for the survey site off Henoko around 9 a.m. Personnel from the Okinawa Defense Bureau also observed the survey onboard a boat.

The real problem is not the relocation of Henoko but the backdoor shenanigans of Ogawa with his massive construction deal with Universal Studio Japan and resorts.
