Korean LCC starts new route between Naha and Incheon

Easter Jet, a Korean low-cost carrier, is the newest airline to introduce regular international flights to Okinawa, as the company started flights between Naha and Incheon Airport in Korea on Oct. 29th.

The new Naha – Incheon route is Easter Jet’s third between Japan and Korea after opening routes to Narita and Kansai International Airports. The inaugural flight ran at 90.5 % capacity.

According to Okinawa Convention and Visitors Bureau (OCVB), the number of tourists from Korea to Okinawa has increased sharply thanks to cheaper yen and well-furnished tourist facilities. According to bureau statistics, as of September this year, 131,900 people from Korea had visited Okinawa, which amounts to about 70 % of the total visitors of all of the previous year to Okinawa.

Easter Jet runs five round trips per week on the new route, except on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
