Orion Beer Co., Ltd and JR Kyushu Hotels Co., an affiliate of Kyushu Railway Company, or JR Kyushu, held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new city hotel named ‘Blossom Naha’ at the site of the former Okiei-kan Theater in Makishi, Naha City, on Thursday.

JR Kyushu Hotels manages accommodation facilities in Tokyo and Kyushu area, and the new hotel will be its 14th hotel and the first in Okinawa. The hotel is scheduled to open in June 2017.

The design concept of the hotel is ‘a city hotel with a resort atmosphere.’ The hotel will have 13 floors and 218 guest rooms plus a relaxation room, restaurants and meeting rooms. The company envisions that the hotel will operate at more than 80% of capacity throughout the year.
