A 6.3-meter-long carcass of a humpback whale was found washed on the beach at Kadena Marina in Kaneku, Kadena Town, on Monday.

According to Kadena Town officials, they received a report about the dead whale from staff at the marina Monday afternoon.

The location where the whale carcass was found is within an area under the direct control of the U.S. Military. Thus, the Kadena Municipal Government has to coordinate the removal of the whale body with the U.S. Military.
