A fire broke out in one-story wooden house in Taira, Nago City, about 01:00 on Jan. 31st.

Five fire trucks were dispatched to the scene, and the blaze was put out by 03:20. After the fire, firefighters found a body in the ruins of the house. The body is believed to be a male resident in his 80’s who had been living in the house.

According to the Nago Fire Department officials, the man was living with his three daughters. At the time of the fire, he had been at home with one of the daughters, who managed to escape the blaze but the man did not. The other two daughters were not in the house at the time of the fire.
