National and public universities on Okinawa announced the final numbers of applicants for available student slots for the school year starting in April.

At the University of the Ryukyus, 6,473 people applied for the available 1,326 student places. At the Meio University, 1,071 hopeful applied for 240 slots. The Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts had 184 applicants of whom 79 will be able to start the studies in April, and at the Prefectural Nursing College 273 people applied for the 60 places.
