Japan’s earliest picking of tealeaves begins in Nago

Picking of ‘Ichibancha’, the first tea leaves of the season, started at a tea plantation in Isagawa, Nago City, in the morning of Mar. 15th. The harvest is the earliest in the country.

At one of the plantations, Kanigawa Seicha Co., staff in groups of three carefully picked tealeaves. The tea on the farm is grown entirely without any use of pesticides, and its variety of tea is characterized by a scent of a flower.
