A U.S. Marine was found dead in the ocean off the coast of Camp Schwab, before noon on Monday, Mar. 28. Japan Coast Guard assisted in searching for and locating the Marine.

The Naval Criminal Investigative Service is investigating to determine the circumstances and the cause of the Marine’s death. The name of the Marine is withheld until 24 hours after notification of next of kin.
