Many amateur bands perform a wide variety of music.

Kanaderu Park, an outdoor music event that takes place four times a year, once in about every three months, on Chuo Park Avenue in Okinawa City, on a number of stages set along the street.

The street is lined with outdoor tables and chairs for the event.

As the rainy season is nearing its end and the summer heat is present in its full force, the event is this time scheduled for the evening from 16:00 to 20:00. Organizers say that a traditional Yukata summer kimono would be just the right attire to wear to this event.

Besides several amateur bands that play at the event, students of What’s Up Akemi dance school will show the right moves for the summer of 2016. In addition, there are various kinds of other attractions prepared to entertain the whole family and friends.

The Kanaderu Park takes place on Saturday, June 18th, from 16:00 to 20:00.

Besides music, others like this Children’s karate group perform, too.

The event is ran rain-or-shine, but incase of a typhoon or otherwise rough weather it will be cancelled. Admission to the event is free.

Organizers note that there are no free legal parking places in the area. Pay parking is available, and those who have an access to Kadena Air Base should leave their cars on base. It’s only a five-minute walk to the venue from KAB Gate 2. Chuo Park Avenue is a strip mall area that runs from Hwy 330 to Korinza Mall in Okinawa City.
