Churasun Beach in Toyosaki is the largest man-made beach on Okinawa. It’s famous for its spectacular sunsets, and relaxed resort atmosphere.

The beach is also home to the newest and largest water park on the island called The Beach Park. Travel agency H.I.S. sponsors the park to present cool fun to people of all ages. The Beach Park is scheduled to stay open until Oct. 10.

Anyone over 3 years of age can enjoy the 50-meter-long slow slide.

The Beach Park has four different water slides. The largest of them is 12 meters high, about the same as a 3 to 4-floor building, and guaranteed to give an exhilarating run. Another that is not quite as high has two parallel slides that offer a bumpy ride like sliding down rapids in a river. The two large slides are for everyone six years of age and older.

The third, a 50-meter long slow slide is suitable even for the smaller children from three years up. Three-year-old children can also enjoy a mini slide that runs into a large 20-meter-wide wading pool. The mini slide is still five meters high and gives plenty of thrills to smaller kids.

The large slide is 12 meters high, while the smaller resembles rapids.

Everyone entering the Beach Park must wear a swimsuit, and children age 6 or younger must be with a parent or adult guardian at all times. Children 3 years of age and younger can enter the kid’s pool, and are provided a free pool toy to play with.

Tickets to the Beach Park are ¥1,700 in advance for junior high school students and older persons, and ¥1,100 for children age 3 through elementary school students. Advance tickets are available at Lawson convenience store terminals (L-code 82779). Tickets at the entrance cost ¥100 more.

People having tattoos must wear clothing that fully covers them, even in the pool.

The Beach Park is open every day from 10:00 to 18:30 through Aug. 31st, and 10:00 to 17:00 from Sep. 1st through Oct. 10 when the park closes its gates.
