A strong typhoon No.17 named “Megi,” currently located southwest of Okinawa, is heading to west-northwest at 20 kilometers per hour, .

According to Okinawa Meteorological Agency, a storm warning is expected to be issued for Sakishima islands Monday evening. Okinawa main island and Ishigaki were experiencing the strongest winds Monday morning, while Yonaguni area was having them Monday afternoon. Ishigaki and Yonaguni Islands were predicted to be within the area of the storm until Tuesday morning.

The typhoon No.17 is expected to develop further and reach its strongest point while passing over the seas south of Sakishima islands, reaching 925 hpa on Tuesday and then continue to Taiwan and China.
