Teenage boys in trouble, arrested over weekend

Police arrested several teenage boys in two separate incidents over the Christmas weekend.

Naha Police arrested a 15-year-old male junior high school student, on suspicion of forcible obstruction of business in the Kumoji district of Naha. The boy is suspected of spraying a fire extinguisher inside a convenience store after the store staff refused to sell him a pack of cigarettes. He was drunk at the time of the incident, and had entered the store with four other male junior high schools students, who where cheering him were also arrested.

According to police, the boy entered the convenience store about 4 a.m. on Dec. 26. When questioned, he told investigators that he had drunk alcohol from 11 p.m. on the previous night in Naha. Police are now investigating where he bought it.

Uruma Police arrested a 16-year-old boy on spot for driving a motorcycle without a license. Police suspect that the boy had been participating in a semi-organized “reckless drive on X’mas” biker event. He ran away from the police, and broke his right hand little finger when he fell down during the chase.

Nah Police also arrested a 16-year-old boy for driving a motorbike without a license.
