Naha Police arrested Tran Van Kwan, a 24-year-old Vietnamese national, Monday, on suspicion of attempted murder of a 22-year-old Vietnamese student.

According to Naha Police, Kwan is suspected of having gotten into an argument with the student in Kwan’s apartment in Kume, Naha City, and then stabbing him on the stomach around 7 a.m. on Jan. 28.

Kwan reportedly denies the charge insisting, “I did not stab him.”

The student suffered an injury that will take about three months to heal. Reportedly, Kwan and the student knew each other, and occasionally had drinks together.
