Ginowan Police arrested 24-year-olf Rio Garcia Friday on suspicion of attempted murder.

She is suspected of stabbing her 29-year-old boyfriend on the right side of his chest in an apartment in Oyama, Ginowan Friday morning. After her arrest, Garcia reportedly said, “I did not mean to kill him!” and has partly denied the charges. The police continue to investigate the incident.

According to police, the man was stabbed beneath the collarbone with a knife with a 13-centimeter-long blade, but his injuries are not life threatening.

Garcia called placed the emergency call herself after stabbing the boyfriend saying, “A man here has been stabbed and is bleeding.”
