19 high school students, both male and female and all in the 3rd grade of a high school in the southern part of Okinawa Main Island, were discovered having drunk alcohol at a lodging facility at the end of 2016, and will be suspended from the school.

Officials at the high school have already reported the matter to companies and universities, to which they had sent letters of recommendation, and it’s a possible that the matter might affect their future prospects.

Some of the students were involved in a car accident while going to the lodging facility. When a report of the accident reached the school, a further investigation by the school uncovered the drinking of alcohol. The driver of the car had a valid license, and was not under the influence when the accident occurred. No one was injured, either.
