Kadena Police arrested Sunday a 34-year-old female staff sergeant stationed at Kadena Air Base.

According to Kadena Police, SSgt. Matsuko Victor is suspected of failing to pay a ¥3,000 taxi fare. She has reportedly denied the charge, claiming, “I did not ride a taxi.”

Victor allegedly took a taxi from Chatan to Mizugama, Kadena Town, around 2:45 a.m. Saturday morning, and the refused to pay the fare. The taxi driver took her to Kadena Police, but she ran away. She was caught again about 300 meters from the Police station.
