“Motobu Karst Lily Festival,” now on its 5th year is scheduled to kick off on May 3rd.

The festival features a great scenery and 150,000 Easter lilies among and geometric formations of cone karsts.

The main venue of the festival is the Gate Ball Field in Yamazato, Motobu Town. Organizers say the best season to enjoy the lilies is around the first week of May through the middle of the month.

A walk along the paths in the middle of the lily fields or a drive up the narrow mountain roads for a view from higher up are guaranteed to give memories that last.

The opening ceremony will take place at 3 p.m. on May 3rd featuring music with ocarinas and folk songs. A Nordic walking event starts at 4 p.m., and everyone is invited to participate.
