Fireflies flying around at a park at the foot of Mt. Yaedake in Namizato, Motobu Town, Wednesday, create a nature’s signal of the beginning of summer.

The site is along the prefectural road 84 toward Mt. Yaedake. There’s a spring that the rain falling on Mt. Yaedake feeds, and the murmuring sound of water cools the evening as you wait for the dance of the fireflies to start.

The best time to observe the fireflies is between 8 and a little past of 9 p.m.
