FC Ryukyu faces Giravanz Kitakyushu in Saturday home game

FC Ryukyu, an Okinawan soccer team playing in the Japanese J3 division of the Japanese Professional Soccer League, is scheduled to play their next game Saturday on their home turf at Okinawa Comprehensive Athletic Park in Hiyane, Okinawa City.

On Tuesday, the team distributed fliers in front of Palette Kumoji in Naha to drum up public support and invite people to the game.

FC Ryukyu’s career statistics this season are 6 wins, 6 draws and 3 defeats. They are currently in the 6th place, and aim to the 2nd place or better, to get promoted to the second division. In the Saturday game the team faces Giravanz Kitakyushu that is now on the 7th place in the division. Giravanz dropped from the 2nd division last season.

The Saturday game kick-off is at 7 p.m. that is the Tomigusuku Residents’ Day and, to honor the day, Tomigusuku residents can watch the game for only ¥500 for an ordinary A-seat.
