Car crash by elderly driver injures all four in the car
An elderly driver crashed into a roadside building Tuesday afternoon on national road 329 in Kaneku, Nishihara Town.
According to police, the 73-year old driver from Nanjo City veered onto a sidewalk and crashed into a building on the left side of the road. Four people including the driver were in the car when the accident happened. The driver’s grandson, a high school student, who was riding on the back seat of the car suffered a head injury and is in a hospital, unconscious and in serious condition.
Another 19-year-old grandson suffered an internal injury and the driver’s 71-year-old wife sitting on the front seat broke her leg. The driver had a scratch on his left knee. Injuries of the three are not life-threatening.
